Terms & Conditions.

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the UWH Image Optimizer Website and information/downloads available on it. The Website is presented by United Web Host (“we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

2. Product purpose

The Website provides information about UWH Image Optimizer & Converter, a WordPress plugin for local image conversion, optimization, previews, analysis and rollback-related workflows. Product descriptions represent intended functionality of the documented plugin version. Actual behavior depends on WordPress, PHP, compatible encoders and server configuration.

3. Plugin license

The Plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later (GPLv2+), as stated in its included files. The applicable open-source license governs the copyright permissions for the Plugin itself. These Website Terms do not replace or restrict rights granted under that license.

4. Installation and compatibility

You are responsible for checking that your hosting environment and WordPress installation meet the Plugin's stated requirements. Not all hosting servers support every output format, particularly AVIF or HEIC-related source handling. Review compatibility and test representative images before a broad conversion.

5. Image changes and backups

Optimization can change an attachment's file format, file size, dimensions or visual appearance. A shared Media Library attachment may be used across several pages. Before substantial image changes, create and verify an independent site backup. Plugin rollback options require valid retained snapshots and sufficient storage; they are not a replacement for full-site backups.

6. Resource use and operation

Image conversion can use substantial CPU, memory, disk and PHP execution time. Shared or resource-limited hosting environments may slow down, stop jobs or produce errors. Use off-peak windows and appropriate batch sizes when practical, and monitor the website during large runs.

7. No guaranteed performance or SEO result

The Plugin may reduce some image transfer sizes, but no specific amount of storage savings, loading speed, Google PageSpeed score, Core Web Vitals score or search ranking is promised. Results vary with image content, format choice, caching and website implementation.

8. Website content and accuracy

We aim to keep tutorials, FAQs and compatibility details useful and current, but Website content may contain errors or become outdated as WordPress and hosting software changes. The documentation is provided for general informational purposes and should be evaluated against your installation.

9. Acceptable use

You may use the Website and Plugin only in compliance with applicable laws and third-party rights, including copyrights in images you upload or optimize. You must not abuse the Website, attempt unauthorized access or distribute malicious versions of the Plugin under a misleading identity.

10. Downloads and third-party links

The Website provides a direct installer ZIP and links to United Web Host websites. External services or sites have their own separate terms and policies. We are not responsible for unrelated third-party content or links changed by those providers.

11. Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and Plugin are provided without guarantees of uninterrupted availability, defect-free operation or fitness for a specific purpose. The Plugin's GPL license includes its own warranty disclaimer. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.

12. Privacy

For information about Website requests, local image processing, plugin-generated temporary data and linked services, see our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes and contact

We may revise these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version with a new date. Questions can be sent to info@unitedwebhost.com. Main United Web Host hosting or account services are separately subject to their own Terms of Service.
